What if we told you that the first person to cross the finish line is not always the winner?
Charm City Run Events is excited to present a fun twist on racing with a new summer classic, the Summer Fun Prediction Run! The concept is simple: we tell you the distance of the race upfront (2.81 miles), you tell us how long you think it will take you to complete when you register, and whoever submits a predicted time closest to their actual time is the winner. Bring your summer vibes, but leave your watch and phone in the car!
HOW DOES IT WORK?
Sign up. You’re already in the right place! During registration you’ll answer a few questions, and tell us what you think you will run or walk the course in. Don’t worry - you are able to edit this prediction all the way up until July 29th (day before the race) so if your fitness (or strategy) changes be sure to log in to your RunSignup profile and edit your predicted time!.
Pick up your gear. We’ll host a packet pickup at the Charm City Run store in Timonium on Friday, July 29th. You’ll grab your race shirt, bib, medal, and maybe some last-minute tips from the race staff.
Join us on race day. Arrive at the Westshore Park at least 45 minutes prior to race time and we’ll give some final instructions. Don’t forget to leave your watch/phone/crazy timekeeping device in your car - we’ll be checking at the start line to be sure :) When the race starts your bib will record your exact starting time, and you’re free to run, jog, or walk the course. We’ll get your finish time, plug it into our fancy computers, and calculate the results. Remember, anyone can win, so results aren’t final until after the last person finishes!
