Trail Half Marathon Training

Group starts August 3rd

Are you planning to run 13.1 on the trails this fall? Are you looking to tackle a new running challenge? Our training program will prepare to race your best - whether you're new to trail running or a seasoned training group runners. Our trail half marathon group will meet twice a week from July to November - once a week for speed workouts and once a week for long runs on local trails, unless weather forces us to stay on the roads. Your expert coach will also provide you with a weekly training plan that will guide your preparation for your target fall trail half marathon. Along the way you'll learn about everything you need to know regarding trail running including how to fuel and hydrate, pacing and picking out trail running shoes.


To safely meet your goal we do ask that you have a base level of running under your belt before joining this group. What does that mean? We ask that at the beginning of the program you are able to run/walk 3-4 miles at one time and are currently running 10-15 miles per week. This does not mean you need to be able to run the entire way but just that you are comfortable covering that distance. Are you not sure if you meet these requirements? Don’t worry ask the coach for your location. You will be surprised that most people meet these requirements and are able to join the group. No previous trail running experience required!

Fall Trail Half Marathon Training

Our fall trail half marathon group starts August 3rd and targets the Schaeffer Half Marathon on Saturday, November 2nd or any other middle distance trail race in the same time frame! This group will run out of our Timonium store but most practices will take place at surrounding trails.

Training Dates & Times

Check out the meeting dates and times below. An info session will be held in the weeks leading up to the start of training to address your questions and explain the program expectations. To sign up for the info session, please fill out the form below. Registered or not, all are welcome to join us for an info session and/or the first day of training to get a feel for the awesome group atmopshere!


Info Session:

  • Wednesday, July 31st at 6:30pm

First Run:

  • Saturday, August 3rd at 7:30am

Training Runs:

  • Tuesdays at 6:30pm

  • Saturdays at 7:30am
