13th Annual Diane Geppi-Aikens Memorial 5K Race and 1-Mile Fun Walk

The run and fun run/walk benefits the Diane Geppi-Aikens Endowed Scholarship at Loyola University Maryland, honoring the legacy of former Loyola Head Women's Lacrosse Coach Diane Geppi-Aikens who passed away in 2003. Geppi-Aikens was Loyola's head coach from 1989-2003 and amassed a career record of 197-71, including 10 NCAA Tournament appearances and a No. 1 national ranking in 2003.

Online Registration is now closed.  Registration is available at the Packet Pick-up session as well as on race day morning.

PARTICIPATE IN SPIRIT

Even if you can't participate on race day, you can still support the Diane Geppi-Aikens Endowed Scholarship at Loyola University Maryland by checking the "Participant in Spirit" box when you register. Your contribution will entitle you to a T-shirt available at packet pick-up.


TEAM CHALLENGE

Runners or walkers may also form teams for the Team Challenge. Enter your team of 10 or more for the race or walk to be eligible for a team prize. A team can be any type of group!

beginning at 7 a.m.


AMENITIES

The first 500 registrants receive a race T-shirt, custom wristband and a race number with a prize giveaway ticket.


COURSE

Begins and ends on Loyola's Diane Geppi-Aikens Field with a run through the beautiful Guilford neighborhood.


AWARDS

Top three male and female overall as well as top three finishers in the following age groups: 15 and under, 16-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70 and over. An award will be given for the team with the most entrants.


DIRECTIONS

From the Northeast: Follow Interstate 95 South to I-695 (Baltimore Beltway). Take I-695 West toward Towson. Take Exit 25 (Charles Street). At the end of the ramp, make a left, then follow the circle around to the left to Charles Street going south. Stay on Charles Street into Baltimore City (approximately six miles) until you reach the intersection of Charles St. and Cold Spring Lane. Turn left on Cold Spring Lane. Diane Geppi-Aikens Field and Reitz Arena will be approximately 1/4 mile from that intersection on your left.

From the North: Follow Interstate 83 South to I-695 (Baltimore Beltway). Stay to your left for I-695 East. Immediately as you pass over the bridge, take Exit 25 (Charles Street) south toward Baltimore. At the end of the ramp, make a left, then follow the circle around to the left to Charles Street going south. Stay on Charles Street into Baltimore City (approximately six miles) until you reach the intersection of Charles St. and Cold Spring Lane. Turn left on Cold Spring Lane. Diane Geppi-Aikens Field and Reitz Arena will be approximately 1/4 mile from that intersection on your left.

From the West: Follow Interstate 70 East to I-695 (Baltimore Beltway). Take I-695 North toward Towson. Take Exit 25 (Charles Street). At the end of the ramp, make a left, then follow the circle around to the left to Charles Street going south. PARKING

The Butler Parking Lot will be open on race day. From Cold Spring Lane, turn north onto Charles Street, and turn onto campus at the pedestrian bridge. At Millbrook, turn left and follow road to first stop sign and turn right. The lot is at the top of the hill. Parking is also available on area streets.

Join Loyola Athletics for a morning of running, walking, fun and excitement!


EVENT GUIDELINES

Please no baby joggers, strollers, roller blades, skates, bikes, dogs, pets or headphones allowed on the race course. Your race number must be worn on your front and must be visible. DO NOT exchange or give your number to another participant.
