Meet the Professional

Erica Adams, DPT

Erica is the clinic director at our Columbia physical therapy clinic in Supreme Sports Club. She found her niche in the pelvic health world. She has been a member of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) since 2005 and the Section on Women's Health since 2007. Erica obtained her post-professional training with the APTA and received her Certificate of Achievement in Pelvic Physical Therapy (CAPP) in 2013, recognizing her internationally as a women's health physical therapist. Erica has experience working with a variety of populations including prenatal and postpartum patients, bowel, bladder and sexual dysfunction, organ prolapse and pelvic pain syndromes.

She worked at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center treating women's health and orthopedic patients for 3 years following graduation. Erica joined the Chesapeake Physical & Aquatic Therapy family in 2011 and became the clinic director in 2013. She stayed on as clinic director at our Columbia physical therapy clinic in Supreme Sports Club. She has expanded the women's health program, while continuing to treat orthopedic and other outpatient conditions. She continues to further her education and training by taking continuing education courses focused on pelvic floor, orthopedic and prenatal/postpartum physical therapy.

Erica attended The University of Massachusetts, Amherst and graduated in 2004 with a degree in Psychology and Exercise Science. After spending a year traveling, she moved down to Baltimore to attend PT school. Erica graduated from the University of Maryland Baltimore, Department of Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Science in 2008 with her Doctorate of Physical Therapy. She met her husband, Jason, in graduate school and together they have a son, Nathan, who was born in June of 2013.
