The community of North Garden, nestled in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains and just a ten minute scenic drive outside of the City of Charlottesville, welcomes you to Walnut Creek Park.
With a calm lake central to the park and over twelve miles of single track trails amongst the trees and woods surrounding the lake, you will feel rejuvenated as you swim in a picturesque setting, bike in the beautiful countryside of Albemarle county and run within the park.
In late August, the mountains of Virginia begin to feel like fall with some cooler mornings in the 60’s and water temperatures in the upper 70’s to low 80’s. It’s a great time of year to race in Charlottesville! Walnut Creek Park is also a great place to bring the family for the day with its 18-hole frisbee golf course just off of the trails, a lake front, wide beach, picnic tables and grills, and a new playground for the younger kids. On race weekend, you will not want to miss seeing the sights in the Charlottesville area.
