Leigh Baerenz Rogers passed away on Friday, February 17th. On Wednesday February 15th, she was tragically struck by a car while she was doing what she loved - running with her dog.
As one of Leigh’s friends put it: “she had an insatiable love for adventure and bending the rules." Leigh tackled every challenge in her life with dedication, enthusiasm & love. Whether it was a year of running every day, work, or searching for the most delicious beer with friends, she lived each moment fully engaged with the world around her. Leigh has always been very involved with sports and running, playing D1 lacrosse at Virginia Tech, where her love of running also began more than 10 years ago. Since then, Leigh had completed everything from 5Ks to Marathons to Ultra Marathons. Through running, she shared her determination and excitement for life with strangers and friends alike. Leigh Rogers is survived by her loving family & fiancé as well as her dogs and running partners Kyle and Daenerys.
Please join us on Saturday, March 18th at 11:00am as we are honor Leigh in the way she loved to live. We will come together for a guided 5K run and 1 mile walk. If you would like to be a part of this day, but don't wish to run or walk, please email Austin at austin@charmcityrun.com to volunteer to help us safely cross the streets along the way.
