Chrissy Callis DeMeulenaere
frederick MIGHTY MILERS COACH
Chrissy spent years swearing she was NOT a runner. She stayed active in lots of ways, but felt that running was only necessary in times of emergency. However, when a dear friend insisted they do an "easy" one mile run together in 2019, everything changed. Though the run was far from easy, it was enjoyable- and the feeling of accomplishment that followed was nearly unparalleled. She signed up for a 4 miler in October of 2019 and trained consistently. Soon enough she was running a few days a week just to clear her head. She's since completed several 5 and 10Ks, a half marathon in Cape Cod, and most recently completed her longest run during a trail race; those loops let you lose track of mileage!
Chrissy has finally accepted that she is in fact a runner, even looking for "nice neighborhoods for running" when house hunting last year. She loves running in the woods, running with friends, and especially running with her family. She's also been known to cry at the finish line, even if she's not the one racing - so don't be alarmed, it just means she's happy for you! She's thrilled to be a part of the Mighty Milers coming to Frederick.
