Race Event Operations Associate - Charm city run events

Charm City Run is a running and walking specialty company consisting of 8 retail locations and an events and training division.  Founded in 2002, our mission is to inspire and move the human spirit one sole at a time. It’s a lofty goal, but we have a humble and perhaps ignorant belief that we can do this every day.  Charm City Run Events produces over 130 endurance sporting events per year.  Over 85,000 runners and walkers cross a Charm City Run finish line every year.  Charm City Run Training prepares over 2,200 people per year for events from a 5K through an ultra marathon.  The Live. Give. Run. Foundation has donated over one million dollars in 20 years and Charm City Run Events helps local non-profits raise over $500,000 a year for their respective causes.

This position will report to the Director of Operations Sarah Benedict.

Your Job:

Charm City Run Events (CCRE) is currently seeking an enthusiastic candidate with a passion for the endurance sports industry to fill an open Race Events Operations Associate position. This is a part-time position with the heaviest workload occurring March - May and September - November. In out-of-season, non-event weeks, this position has a high degree of flexibility.

Responsibilities:

  • Unloading, cleaning, and restocking CCRE equipment inventory post-race.

  • Working with Director of Operations to determine equipment maintenance needs.

  • Ensuring a safe and clean working environment.

  • Upholding moral and ethical standards set by CCR within the workplace and community at large.

Qualifications:

  • Ability to work weekends.

  • Comfort in driving commercial fleet vehicles such as pickup trucks, transit vans, box trucks, etc.

  • Ability to work under pressure and within tight timelines.

  • Strong attention to detail and a high degree of organization.

  • Experience working collaboratively within a team.

  • Ability to occasionally lift heavy weights (up to 50 pounds).

Charm City Run Events – Major Events:

  • Availability surrounding these events is required:

    • Shamrock 5K (mid-March)

    • Sole of the City 10K (early to mid-April)

    • St. Michaels Running Festival (mid-May)

    • Baltimore Women’s Classic 5K (late June)

    • Charles St 12 Miler (Labor Day weekend)

    • CCR 20 Miler (mid-September)

    • Baltimore Triathlon (early October)

    • MDXC (early October)

    • Oktoberfest (mid-October)

    • YMCA Turkey Trots (late November)
