We know - it's frustrating when injuries stand in the way of your running goals, physical activity or daily mobility. That's why MedStar Sports Medicine will be providing FREE injury screenings at Charm City Run Frederick. Whether you are dealing with a nagging injury or want tips for how to stay injury free, we recommend you sign up for a one-on-one appointment. This is your opportunity to see both a MedStar physician and physical therapist so you can continue your running training pain-free!

Please plan to arrive 10-15 minutes before your scheduled appointment time. Dress in comfortable workout clothes and bring or wear your current running/walking shoes.

Meet the MedStar Team

Dr. Matt Sedgley, Primary Care Sports Medicine

Dr. Sedgley is a primary care physician, fellowship trained in sports medicine. He serves as medical director of the running program at MedStar Sports Medicine. His special interests include musculoskeletal injuries, evaluation of non-surgical orthopedic problems, and concussion. He is currently the team physician for Stevenson University athletics. Dr. Sedgley’s special interests include working with runners, triathletes and cyclists; he has worked as the primary care sports medicine medical director of several marathons and ultra-marathons. He is trained in sports medicine ultrasound, non-operative care for orthopedic concerns and acute sports injuries are his focus.

Dr. Sedgley was named a 2017 “Top Doc” by Baltimore Magazine for Orthopedic Sports Medicine.
