Slow AF Run Club Book Signing and Fun Run with Author Martinus Evans

  • Charm City Run Timonium 2045 York Road Lutherville Timonium United States (map)

Martinus Evans, founder of Slow AF Run Club, is coming to Charm City Run Timonium! He recently wrote and published Slow AF Run Club: the ultimate guide for anyone who wants to run, a book for those who may not fit the image of a “traditional” runner. It’s a how-to guide aimed at helping those at the “back of the pack” feel empowered to lace up their running shoes and get moving in their body as-is.

Join us for a special Book Signing and Fun Run event with Martinus on Monday, June 12 at 6PM. We’ll start with a Fun Run/Walk and Brooks will be on-site with demo shoes to try. Then we’ll enjoy refreshments and a brief talk by Martinus about his experiences that led him to start Slow AF Run Club and write a book. Martinus will be available for Q&A, book signing and photos.

About the Book:

Slow AF contains specialized advice for slow runners from someone who started his running journey by falling off a treadmill (literally). Martinus Evans has been through it all–and has the cautionary tales to prove it. It’s a book designed to make getting started less intimidating, covering everything from the gear you need as a beginner and simple nutrition to training schedules, recovery tips, finding a group, and running races (including why it’s okay to come in dead f*cking last). Part blueprint, part workbook, and part hard-truth and humorous memoir, Slow AF is here to help you on every step of your journey, from jogging your first block to your first finish line and beyond.

About the Author:

Martinus Evans has run over eight marathons since his doctor told him to “lose weight or die” in July 2012. Since then, he’s also coached hundreds of runners and founded the Slow AF Run Club, a community of over 10,000 members worldwide. He is also the author of the book Slow AF Run Club: The ultimate guide for anybody who wants to run.  When he’s not running races around the world, he enjoys speaking passionately about issues related to size-inclusivity, mindset, DEI and mental health.
