When I was presented with the opportunity to run the New York City Marathon, a bucket list dream that I thought would never come true, it was no question of whether or not I would do it. After years of struggling with my running journey, this is the greatest surprise I could have ever hoped for. And I am honored to be able to do it with the people who helped me become the runner I am now. And after years of being told I couldn’t run, and then running for all the wrong reasons, I am so excited to cross that finish line in New York for all the right ones.

Charm City Run is Running the New York City Marathon: Ben's Perspective
Any longtime runner is familiar with the shock, confusion, horror, concern, and incomprehension they are met with when they tell a non-runner they are training for a marathon (or any race, or that they enjoy running in general). They simply do not understand; so let me answer their questions once and for all. Why do I run? Peace, connection, joy.
Return to Running Postpartum With A Healthy Pelvic Floor
It’s no secret that right after having a baby there is some physical rehabilitation that needs to occur. Many women experience that noodle-like feeling in their core. Many women experience new leakage that has not been problematic before. Simple tasks that were easy before such as getting on and off the floor may not be so simple after giving birth. As you continue to get stronger and more active postpartum, how do you know when it is time to start running again? Here are some guidelines.
Running Through the Darkness: Understanding the connection between the run and mental health
People choose to run for so many reasons. From staying physically in shape, to the community, all the way to the competition running has to offer, and then many people run for the mental clarity. For myself, I picked up running after giving up my favorite sport which was softball due to an injury. I needed to stay active, and softball was a sport that kept me active and stress free. In high school, following my injury, I decided to join the track team, and that was where I discovered my love for running. Post high school, I continued to run every single day.
CHARM CITY RUN IS RUNNING THE NEW YORK CITY MARATHON AS A TEAM: JENNY'S PERSPECTIVE
Running has always been a big part of my life. I took my first steps at one of my dad’s races at the Inner Harbor. I played soccer because I could run up and down the field for 90 minutes, and ran track in high school. Running took a back seat during college and early 20s because I was enjoying life to the fullest.
Charm City Run is Running the New York City Marathon as a Team: Deanthony's Perspective
I am running this race for my wife Erin, daughter Dreux and the rest of my family. They're a huge part of my "WHY" in anything I do, when I set my intentions on something inspiring. Knowing that my daughter will be paying attention to MY ACTIONS for the rest of her life as she grows into a young lady, I want her to know that her father didn't always have a Dad Bod and wants her to continuously challenge herself mentally, physically and spiritually and to also know that the journey is the destination. #TheMarathonContinues
Charm City Run is Running the New York City Marathon as a Team: Bobby's Perspective
I never considered myself to be a runner until high school. I joined my cross country team simply to make friends since I was the new kid on the block. I was lucky enough to have my first spike night at the old Charm City Run in Clarksville. It was a great experience, and I learned immediately that running was more than just quickly putting one foot in front of the other. I developed a passion for the sport thanks to my team and coaches, and realized that I could be a runner if I just took the chance.
