As long as it’s above 0 degrees Fahrenheit (we don’t want anyone getting frostbite!), then you can continue to run outdoors. In general, it’s actually easier on your body to run in cooler weather. My brain has two modes, the one that makes all the lists and triple checks to make sure I have everything. Then there's the other part of my brain that's running the Chicago Marathon this weekend and just read the participant guide yesterday to find out I can't use a hydration vest! Workshops and Gait Analyses are something we love putting on at Alpha Project Phyzio & Performance! A question you may have is,” why do we put on workshops” and” What is a gait assessment/analyses?”. Those are all great questions. The short answer is to give you, the runner, a level of knowledge of how to take care of yourself on your own! This is something we love doing and is a great opportunity for you, to learn valuable skills to continue running well into your 60’s, 70’s, and older!
Running can be a lifestyle and is the most popular form of exercise with multiple health benefits. However, when running is done as “monotraining” it can lead to injuries. Monotraining refers to doing only one form of exercise, which causes muscle imbalances to develop and repetitive overuse injuries to occur.
We started the Amy Schuerholz Metz and Charm City Run Scholarship presented by Saucony back in 2015 after a former store lead, Anthony, had a great idea to support our local high school students. This was a chance for us to not only support these great young men and women, but share their stories with Charm City Run Nation.
Thanks for the privilege of introducing our Live. Give. Run. Foundation. The creation of this 501c3 and the branding of the foundation is a continuation of what you have been helping us do for the past 19+ years. One of the best elements of hanging around for two decades is that you get to work with some great people. Two of those individuals informed me it was time to formalize our giving with an actual foundation and a name.
